milestones

1949

TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD.  was founded by Kazuharu Nakamura.

1952

Began manufacturing of kerosene cooking stoves and other products developed by Toyotomi in February.

1960

Awarded by the Minister of International Trade and Industry for outstanding performance of industrial standardization and quality control in October.

1970

Began manufacturing of electric heaters and electric lawn mowers.

1976

Completed the Nukata plant in April.

1983

TOYOTOMI U.S.A., INC.  was established in Brookfield, Connecticut, USA.

1986

In February Toyotomi received the Consumer Product Development  Achievement Award from the National Safety Council in the U.S.A. in recognition of its great efforts to dramatically reduce Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide by reburning of emission gases in Double Clean System.

1990

In April, TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD.  was renamed to TOYOTOMI CO., LTD.

1991

In February the BS-310/BS-320/BS-366/BSF-3112 series of Toyotomi water heaters was awarded the Grand Energy Conservation Prize by the Chairman of the Energy Conservation Center in recognition of High Energy Saving Equipment in the twenty-first century.  

1992

In September the Headquarters Plant became the first manufacturers in the kerosene-fired appliance industry to be certified for ISO 9002 in the field of kerosene heaters, room air conditioners and cooling equipment.

1994

Began production of indoor units of split type air conditioners in March.

1996

Began production of air cleaners in March.

1998

The Nukata Plant was certified for ISO 9002 in March

1999

The Headquarter was certified for ISO14001 in January.

2000

The Nukata Plant was certified for ISO14001 in March.

2001

TOYOTOMI RECYCLE CO., LTD.  was established in April.
